Having been in the fire service for over 3 years, I've learned many valuable lessons, especially the importance of working with great people and serving diverse communities. I always find joy in helping those in need. If I'm not talking about the fire service, you can bet it's about sports and my love for that world. As a younger firefighter in the industry, I'm eager to earn every opportunity and acquire as much knowledge as possible. Working with great people immensely helps in this pursuit.

J. Anthony Mire, also known as Tony, began his career in the fire service with his dad at the age of 15. He started in Walterboro and was hired full time with Summerville Fire Rescue in 1985. He served there until his retirement as Battalion Chief in 2019. With over 20 years of experience as a fire investigator and instructor, he enjoys helping people and learning new things.
